At the top of the hill, ancestral customs are practiced before a stone idol known as Pascual Abaj. Santo Tomás Church: This is an important and historic site in the town of Chichicastenango. The Popol Vuh, the sacred book of the Quiché people, was discovered here. Later, the church was built, which houses delicate pieces of imagery and combines ancestral ceremonies with Catholicism. It features a staircase with 18 steps representing the months of the Mayan calendar.
Afterward, following a delicious lunch at a typical restaurant in a colonial house with live music, we will head back to Antigua Guatemala, approximately a 3-hour journey. You can inquire about the option to extend this trip with a one-night stay and a visit to the beautiful Lake Atitlan.
